MCLE Courses
NOVEMBER 2007 - JANUARY 2008

Participants in our MCLE courses said:
"This place and your programs are jewels!"   "I love taking MCLE classes here."
"A difficult, often dry subject made interesting. Highest marks."

Since 1992, the Nyingma Institute has offered courses that fulfill the MCLE requirements established by the State Bar of California. We offer several sections of all required courses: Legal Ethics, Preventing Substance Abuse, and Bias in the Legal Profession. We have worked with practicing attorneys to design our schedule to meet your needs. Courses are scheduled so that you can earn up to 6 MCLE credits in a single day. Most programs are held in Berkeley in the peaceful environment of the Nyingma Institute and include a delicious vegetarian lunch.
This year, we are also offering a full-day program in downtown San Francisco. Classes are taught by Robin Caton, J.D., Jack Petranker, J.D., and Erika Rosenberg, Ph.D.

Please call (510) 843-6812 for further information.

Is it enough to comply with the Rules of Professional Conduct, or is there more to being an ethical attorney? When do principles of legal ethics conflict with 'success' for your client, and how should you act when they do? How can we enhance respect for a profession that once was thought to embody one of the highest of Aristotelian virtues, practical wisdom? Through lecture, discussion, and analysis, we'll explore these and many day-to-day questions of professional ethics.
